Hate Crime Training

Hate Crime

Essex Police are pleased to offer the opportunity to attend FREE Hate Crime Awareness or Hate Crime Ambassador training. This can be via MS Teams, at your place of business, your group meetings or an arranged suitable venue.

This will be delivered by a Hate Crime Officer from Essex Police.

Hate Crime Ambassador Training:

This will be delivered on MS Teams and will last 2 hours

This training aims to help the participant identify and support victims of Hate Crime by giving the participant in-depth knowledge of:

  • What Hate Crime is
  • Different categories of Hate Crime
  • Mate Crime
  • How to report Hate Crime
  • Support available for Hate Crime

Participants will receive comprehensive Essex Police training by a Hate Crime Officer. A short knowledge check is to be completed following this and a certificate will be provided.

Hate Crime Awareness Training:

This will be delivered on MS Teams; training will be 1 hour

This training aims to give the participant an understanding of Hate Crime by providing the participant knowledge of:

  • What Hate Crime is
  • Different categories of Hate Crime
  • Mate Crime
  • How to signpost potential victims to aide reporting
  • Where to signpost potential victims for support

Participants will receive training by Essex Police to understand what Hate Crime is and knowledge of how to signpost potential victims for additional support to aide reporting of Hate crime.

You only need to attend one session: training dates and times currently available:

Hate Crime Ambassador Training 12th October 18.00-20.00 on MS Teams

Hate Crime Awareness Training  12th October 12.00-13.00 on MS Teams

Hate Crime Awareness Training  13th October 18.30-19.30 on MS Teams

If the times/dates are unsuitable but you still want to complete the training, the police will consider holding another event in November.
