Essex Police genuinely want to strengthen partnership working, including hearing your view on what constitutes an ‘excellent police service’ and identifying what practical measures need to be taken to get us there. In line with this ambition,Thurrock BME joined the Essex Police Towards Excellence Conference earlier this month.
The aim of the day was to:
• Identify and agree what policing excellence and success looks and feels like
• Listen to the voice of victims and/or their representatives
• Listen to our community groups and/or their representatives
• Facilitate discussions on all aspects of policing practice, including disparities in our Use of Force
• Explore and initiate new collaborative working partnerships and ‘conference legacy projects’ designed to enhance mutual respect and reduce ‘us and them’ perceptions
• Identify community champions to help build trusting relationships between diverse communities and Police officers
