Police have kicked off their focus on Stop and Search by holding their first Thurrock focus meeting.
Although Stop and Search happens across Essex, Thurrock is deemed to be the most diverse community in Essex so it is only right that there is a focus on the Stop and Search in this area. Generally it is deemed that black people and 2.5 times more likely to be stopped and searched than any other community group.
The meeting was attended by Thurrock Police Commander Mark Barber, Thurrock Riverside Community, Thurrock BME Group, TAG Community Radio among others.
